Folks. This week I am taking a break to catch up on some reading and also so I can spend more time on something more important.
Last week, I think on Sunday, I came home and had been told that my Dad had a stomach bug. One night, I remember also waking up in the night to hear him throwing up and asking my Mom for help. Wednesday, things weren’t getting better so he went to the doctor again. I got a call that afternoon that he was going to the hospital for possible surgery. I canceled my physical therapy that week for sciatica to be with him and my mother, the latter of whom I went out and got something to eat. My Dad had a successful surgery to help start dealing with a bowel blockage, but they found he had an irregular heartbeat. They are keeping him there longer.
However, he has so much medication that he is not in his right mind. When I saw him on Saturday before work, he thought I was his cousin for awhile and then thought I might be an angel. He asked once about his sister who only lived a day and asked if his Dad was coming by to see him, despite his dad dying 39 years ago. Somehow, I have been the only one I think able to get through to him at times.
I am hearing reports that he is doing better. If he can get his stomach cleaned out good, they can deal with an infection in there and then they can work on his heartbeat. My parents don’t have a lot of income so if there are financial needs, I am highly considering a GiveSendGo for them.
On top of all of this, I am involved in a major stressful situation at my workplace involving my sciatica and a manager who doesn’t like the fact that sometimes I am in so much pain that I have to lean or sit for a little bit and sit especially as that provides the best relief.
So this week, I will be breaking. I will be doing some reading of Kapr in the meantime and hopefully some other books as well so that there will be more to write about. Please be praying for me and my Dad and for my Mom as well and if you need to know more about what’s going on, just send me a message.
In Christ,
Nick Peters
